Event Production at Georgia International Convention Center

The South Metro Development Outlook Conference reached a new level of scale in 2026, bringing together over 800 attendees for a full-day executive leadership program at the Georgia International Convention Center in Atlanta. As the program expanded in both attendance and structure, the production challenge shifted from supporting a single room to coordinating multiple environments operating simultaneously.

Innovent Technologies delivered full AV production across the general session, luncheon, and breakout spaces, providing end-to-end support from initial concept and CAD design through on-site execution and strike. Each environment was designed to function independently while remaining aligned as part of a single, cohesive program.

Production Strategy Across Multiple Environments

This program required a structured production approach to ensure consistency across spaces while allowing each room to serve a distinct purpose. The general session operated with an open-door format, the luncheon required full-room engagement, and the breakout session needed clarity and continuity at a smaller scale.

Rather than treating each room as a separate production, the system was designed as a connected workflow. Show control, communication, and timing were aligned across all environments to maintain program continuity as attendees moved throughout the venue.

General Session Design and Execution

The general session was built around a dual-screen projection setup to maintain clear sightlines across the ballroom. This ensured that content remained visible from all seating positions while supporting a dynamic schedule of speakers and panel discussions.

Panel-driven programming introduced additional production complexity, requiring disciplined microphone management and structured transitions between speakers. Audio clarity remained a priority throughout, with consistent reinforcement ensuring that content delivery stayed focused and intelligible regardless of speaker changes.

The stage design incorporated vertical scenic elements and architectural lighting, creating a clean visual identity that supported both keynote presentations and panel discussions without distraction.

Managing Movement and Open-Flow Attendance

One of the defining characteristics of this event was its open-door format. Attendees moved freely between the general session and vendor activations throughout the morning, creating a constantly shifting audience environment.

This required precise coordination between production and program flow. Timing, cueing, and communication were managed carefully to ensure that content remained aligned even as attendance fluctuated. Maintaining continuity in this type of environment is less about rigid control and more about structured flexibility.

Luncheon Program Transformation

The luncheon represented a shift in both scale and energy. As attendees reconvened into a single space, the production design transitioned to a three-screen projection configuration to support full-room engagement.

This configuration allowed content to reach every part of the room while reinforcing a unified experience. Lighting and staging were adjusted to match the tone of the luncheon program, balancing visibility, atmosphere, and audience focus.

Breakout Room Consistency

In parallel with the main program, a breakout room operated with consistent audio and visual standards. While smaller in scale, this environment was designed to mirror the clarity and professionalism of the primary spaces.

Maintaining consistency across rooms ensured that attendees received the same level of experience regardless of where they engaged within the program.

On-Site Production Leadership

Innovent Technologies served as the central production lead across all environments, coordinating communication between the client team, speakers, and technical crew. This structure allowed for real-time alignment between program priorities and technical execution.

Key areas of focus included:

  • Run-of-show oversight across multiple spaces
  • Coordinated cueing between sessions
  • Managed speaker transitions and microphone flow
  • Consistent visual and audio standards across all rooms

With a compressed schedule and high level of activity, disciplined execution ensured that the program remained steady from opening remarks through final adjournment.

Outcome

The result was a structured and well-executed program that supported both the scale and intent of the South Metro Development Outlook Conference. As the largest iteration of the event to date, the production approach demonstrated a framework capable of supporting continued growth in future years.

When a program expands in size and complexity, structure becomes the foundation that allows content to carry the day. This event reflects how coordinated production planning and on-site leadership can create clarity across multiple environments while supporting a meaningful experience for attendees.
