South Metro Development Outlook Event Production at GICC

by Innovent Technologies | Mar 2, 2026

The South Metro Development Outlook Conference reached a new milestone this year with its largest program to date at the Georgia International Convention Center. The event welcomed approximately 800 attendees and featured a dynamic format that included an open-door general session, active vendor engagement outside the ballroom, a concurrent breakout room, and a unified lunch session where all participants reconvened.

As attendance and program scope increase, the production challenge shifts from simply supporting presentations to coordinating movement, timing, and communication across multiple environments.

Program Structure and Technical Layout

The general session was designed with dual projection screens to ensure consistent visibility across the ballroom. The stage environment supported multiple panel discussions, requiring balanced audio reinforcement and disciplined microphone management to maintain clarity as speakers transitioned on and off stage.

Because the general session operated with an open-door format, attendees moved between the ballroom and vendor activations throughout the morning. This required precise run-of-show coordination to keep content aligned while accommodating natural traffic flow.

The lunch session transitioned into a three-screen projection configuration to support full-room engagement once attendees reconvened. At the same time, a concurrent breakout room operated with consistent audio and visual presentation standards to ensure continuity across all program spaces.

Panel-driven programming across sessions increased the importance of structured cueing and clear communication between stage management and technical support.

Production Leadership and Coordination

Innovent Technologies served as the on-site production lead, acting as the central communication point between SMDO’s organizing team and the technical crew across rooms. This structure allowed for real-time alignment between program priorities and technical execution.

The focus throughout the day included:

  • Coordinated communication between general session, breakout, and lunch environments
  • Structured run-of-show oversight
  • Managed panel transitions and microphone flow
  • Consistent visual standards across all projection systems

With a compressed schedule and high attendee engagement, disciplined coordination ensured the program remained steady and professional from opening remarks through final adjournment.

Outcome and Growth

The result was a polished and well-managed program that delivered important economic and community development messaging to the South Metro audience without technical distraction.

As the largest South Metro Development Outlook to date, the event demonstrated a scalable production framework capable of supporting continued growth through 2027 and beyond. By prioritizing planning, communication, and on-site leadership, the program maintained clarity across multiple rooms while supporting a meaningful experience for attendees.

When an event grows in size, structure becomes the foundation that allows content to carry the day. This program reflects that principle in action.
